We work with our Health & Safety Consultants, Carney Consultancy Ltd, to ensure that Health & Safety is addressed by everyone within the company, thus ensuring it is an integral part of our everyday work. Although we use Health & Safety Consultants they work with us on a day to day basis ensuring we are kept abreast of regulation, industry guidance and best practice changes.

Although we are not ISO18001 Accredited we have developed and operate a Health & Safety Policy and Management system that is in line with the requirements of ISO18001.

Working with Carney Consultancy Ltd we follow the approach outlined in the organogram above to ensure we continually monitor and strive to improve upon our current performance.

We recognise that a positive health and safety culture is the key to a successful Health & Safety performance record and so encourage our operatives to report anything they are not satisfied with in terms of health and safety at work.

As our employees are one of the keys to achieving a good Health & Safety record we ensure they are provided with the necessary Health & Safety training such as Working at Height, Manual Handling and First Aid. They also achieve the NVQ’s in their trade to ensure they have a valid and relevant CSCS card and are therefore up to date with current CSCS Health & Safety touch screen tests.

Our Managers and Supervisors carry much of the Health & Safety responsibilities and so we ensure they receive appropriate training. As a minimum supervisors achieve the 2 day CSkills Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme qualification and Managers achieve the 5 day Site Managers Safety Training Scheme qualification.

Lawson & Cowell Ltd recognise that Health & Safety standards within the industry are continually improving and so as a company, we strive to continually improve  our own performance to stay in line with industry guidance and best practice and where possible improve upon this.
